A ‘Hunger Games’ Theme Park Is Coming, And It Sounds Incredible

So the ‘Hunger Games’ was one of those dark and twisted film franchises that people really seemed to get their teeth into. Who doesn’t want to watch teenagers brutally murder each other in some sick version of sport designed by the government? Well your inner psychopath can rejoice as Lionsgate, the company behind the film franchise, have just announced that they will be opening a Lionsgate Movie World theme park.
Lionsgate are making their very own Lionsgate Movie World with a special section dedicated to the franchise so that you can experience what it would be like to star in your very own Hunger Games. With Trump as President of the United States, the possibility of the Hunger Games becoming an actual reality has increased, so maybe Lionsgate are simply preparing us for the inevitable. Smart really.
However, it’s not just the Hunger Games that has its own section. The 1.3m square foot theme park is dedicated to the biggest Lionsgate movies, with the Hunger Games, Now You See Me, Divergent, Saw, The Cabin in the Woods, Robin Hood, and The Twilight Saga each having their own section.
While a few of those films are sure to pull in the crowds, did anybody actually care about Divergent?
Anyway, the Lionsgate Movie World is being built in South Korea, at Jeju Shinhwa World, and is apparently going to end up being one of South Korea’s largest integrated resorts.
Jeju Shinhwa World have stated on their website:

“Lionsgate inaugural outdoor movie theme park is set to open in Jeju Shinhwa World! The first of its kind by Lionsgate, this will be a world class theme park that combines state-of-the-art rides, attractions, shows, themed dining and retail experiences to immerse guests within some of the world’s most popular films ever produced”.

The theme park is due to be finished in 2019, and although this does seem like a bit of a while off, it will give you plenty of time to save up for that flight to South Korea. Plus, luckily for us, Motiongate Dubai have released a cheeky peak of the Hunger Games zone to show us what we can look forward to.
Motiongate Dubai’s website states:

“Get ready for 360 degrees of thrill! Hop on the Capitol Bullet Train for a once-in-a-lifetime ride to the Capitol. This launched roller coaster will send you backwards, forwards, and upside down on this supersonic ride!”

I volunteer as tribute!
